TKM College of Engineering 

T K M College of Engineering, the first Government-aided Engineering College in Kerala is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade and all UG Programmes are accredited by NBA. The college is the first and foremost institution for technical education, run by the T K M College Trust, headed by Janab Shahal Hassan Musaliar, and is now a renowned technical institution in India. The college is affiliated with the APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi.

Department of electronics and communication 

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, TKMCE, Kollam was started in the year 1977. Right from the inception, the department has rated excellent performance in the academic circles. At present, the B.Tech Degree course has a sanctioned intake of 120. The department also offers an M.Tech program in Communication Systems from the year 2012 onwards. Sanctioned Intake for the same is 18. The department is on the verge of getting approved as a research centre under the APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University. It has signed MoU with many leading industrial and research organizations such as Tata Elxsi, Tata Consultancy Services, Network Systems Private Limited (NEST), etc. to carry out research, consultancy works, and internships. The department has well-experienced faculties with postgraduate and doctoral qualifications from prestigious institutions and possess  international and national publications to their credit. The graduates from this department include many renowned technocrats, academicians, and researchers, working all over the world.

International Conference on Microelectronics Signals & systems (ICMSS)

ICMSS is the flagship event of our Department. The first episode of the Conference was conducted in 2014. The Second and Third editions of ICMSS were conducted in 2016 and 2019 at TKM College of Engineering Kollam.

The theme of ICMSS covers major areas of innovation in electronics and communication engineering which have gained momentum for the last three decades resulting in cutting-edge technologies. The main objectives of the conference are to bring blooming scientists, working engineers, and students to a common platform, share their experiences and results, present their views and formulations on the topic, which in turn will foster research relations between academia and industry.

Apart from making attempts to identify the challenges in all the newly opened up realms in Microelectronic Devices and Circuits, Signal and Image (Medical) Processing, Communication, Computer Networks, Cryptography and Network Security,  Instrumentation and Control, Embedded Systems, Neural Networks, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning,  Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented and Virtual Reality, the conference focuses on the specific areas of Electronics & Communication Engineering as well.
